Day 6 of Mental Health Week (5th–10th October 2026) focused on “Addiction: Understanding, Recovery and New Beginnings”.
Psychiatrist Dr. Simardeep Bhatia introduced different forms of addiction and their impact on life. Clinical Psychiatrists Dr. Lakshmi and Dr. Nimisha discussed psychiatric rehabilitation and smoking addiction, while Endocrinologist Dr. Siddharth highlighted the effects of drug abuse on sexual health.
Art Therapist Vanshika, Dietitian Mandeep and Family Counselor Nitin Gupta presented a powerful play depicting addiction’s impact on families.
Our recovering warriors shared inspiring recovery journeys. Members of the Inner Wheel Organization emphasized mental well-being, while Amritsar’s Deputy Mayor, Mrs. Priyanka Sharma, shared her views.
The event concluded with valuable insights from our patron, Dr. JPS Bhatia, inspiring hope and new beginnings.
