My name is Sharan, and I want to share my journey of hope, struggle, and recovery.
In 2021, my husband experienced his first manic episode and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Alongside this, he struggled with alcoholism, which made life extremely painful for both of us. Five years ago, our home was filled with conflict, broken relationships, and a complete lack of emotional connection. His sudden mood swings—sometimes caring, sometimes distant—left me confused and deeply hurt.
The most heartbreaking moment came when I discovered his outside relationship. I felt shattered, started blaming myself, and even began to hate who I was. I often wondered why he could be loving one moment and completely changed the next.
Our turning point came two years ago when we met a doctor and began proper treatment. Around the same time, I was introduced to Mind Spa Welfare Society. This was where everything started to change. At Mind Spa, I received psycho-education and was supported mentally, physically, and spiritually through its fellowship. I learned that bipolar disorder and addiction are diseases—real illnesses that are fully treatable with consistent care.
With treatment, faith, and the support of the program, my husband improved. Today, we are living a much happier life, built on hope and trust. I also learned that recovery is not just about medicine—it is a lifelong journey that requires surrender, acceptance, and daily commitment.
There were times when memories of his past mistakes still pained me, but with empowerment from the fellowship, I found strength and healing. Today, I know that the program will remain an essential part of my life.
I am deeply grateful to Mind Spa Welfare Society, which not only gave my husband a chance at recovery but also gave me the courage to rebuild my own life.
Help was given. I was empowered. And today, we are living with hope.
